- The nature of the aluminium alloy, for example, although all aluminium alloys are susceptible to corrosion by pitting, they are not all susceptible to stress corrosion.
- The construction arrangements are very important and areas of moisture retention, recesses, overlapping, etc. must be avoided.
- The environment : humidity, water, sea water, chemical products, dust, urban, industrial or marine atmosphere, etc.
- Conditions of service unsuitable for aluminium or poorly controlled.

Galvanic corrosion caused by contact of aluminium with another metal in a humid or wet environment has often been considered incorrectly as prohibited. Experience shows that this risk can easily be prevented. It requires an expert on corrosion.
